Project Background
The customer is the China subsidiary of a leading Southeast Asian financial group. Its core businesses include corporate banking, financial institutions, global markets, and private banking.
This project focused on localized replacement for the bank’s batch-processing database. Such workloads concentrate large, automated, and pre-defined processing tasks in a limited overnight window and are therefore highly sensitive to continuity risk.
Challenges and Requirements
- The target platform had to fully adapt nearly one thousand system functions, stored procedures, operators, and other original database objects.
- The database product, plugins, components, and surrounding tools all needed to pass financial-industry security baseline scans.
- The project required a fully validated cutover plan and rollback plan with minimal business interruption.
Implementation Approach
Metro HA and remote DR
Highgo Database Management System V9 and Highgo HA cluster software were used to build local high availability in Shanghai and remote disaster recovery in Shenzhen.
Unified three-node operations
The Shanghai primary and sync standby, together with the Shenzhen async standby, were managed under one cluster operations model.
Continuous drills and recovery validation
The delivery team responded around the clock and supported repeated DR cutover drills, data validation, and service switchback verification.
Project Highlights
- Used a metro-active plus remote-disaster-recovery architecture to satisfy business continuity requirements in the banking sector.
- Completed localized replacement for a foreign commercial database product with zero business-code changes.
- Designed a controlled production cutover path that ensured zero data loss and a short business interruption window.
Customer Value
- Delivered a full product and solution set, including database, operations tools, and migration tools, aligned with the security and reliability standards expected in financial workloads.
- Built a strong foundation for future localization of more banking systems through deep compatibility verification and validated delivery methods.
